A day is dedicated to the floating village of Kompong Khleang on Tonle Sap Lake, where you will see wooden stilt houses and experience daily life in a fishing community. With around 10,000 residents, most of whom are farmers and fishermen, the village reflects a traditional lifestyle shaped by the rhythms of the lake.



Suggested Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Siem Reap and Visit to the Roluos Group
Fast-track arrival at Siem Reap Airport and private transfer to your hotel for a four-night stay.
In the afternoon, visit the Roluos group, a set of early Angkorian temples that mark the beginning of classical Khmer architecture.
With your private guide, explore the main structures of the group and gain an introduction to the layout and stylistic features that would later define the Angkor complex.
Day 2 – Angkor Wat, Banteay Srei, and Ta Prohm
Spend the day visiting three of the most significant temples in the Angkor complex.
Begin with Angkor Wat, the largest and best-preserved temple, known for its detailed bas-reliefs and balanced design. Your guide will explain its symbolic layout and the historical context behind its construction.
Continue to Banteay Srei, located outside the main complex. This smaller temple is notable for its pink sandstone and fine carvings, which remain remarkably well-preserved.
End the day at Ta Prohm, a temple partially covered by trees and roots. Unlike other restored sites, Ta Prohm has been left in a more natural state, offering insight into how the temples looked when first rediscovered.
Day 3 – Angkor Thom and Northern Temples
Morning:
Begin the day with a visit to the northern temples of the Angkor complex. Start at Preah Khan, a large and historically significant temple built by King Jayavarman VII.
Continue to Neak Pean, a small temple set on an artificial island once used for ritual bathing.
Then visit Thommanon and Chau Say Tevoda, two 12th-century temples known for their detailed carvings and balanced layout.
Afternoon:
Explore Angkor Thom, the former royal city of the Khmer Empire.
Visit Bayon Temple, known for its towers decorated with serene stone faces.
Continue to Baphuon, recently restored after years of reconstruction.
Walk along the Elephant Terrace and see the Terrace of the Leper King, both important ceremonial sites with detailed bas-reliefs.
End the day with a visit to the Angkor National Museum. The eight galleries offer background on Khmer history, religion, and the architecture of the Angkor site.
Day 4 – Tonle Sap and Siem Reap Market
Begin the day with an excursion to Tonle Sap, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia.
Take a boat trip through the floating village of Kompong Khleang, located about 40 km from Siem Reap. The village is home to around 10,000 residents, many of whom live in wooden stilt houses and work as fishermen or farmers. Along the way, see local schools, shops, and homes built to adapt to seasonal changes in water levels.
Return to Siem Reap in the afternoon and visit the central market. Walk through the stalls selling local produce, handicrafts, textiles, and spices, and observe the everyday rhythm of life in the city.
Day 5 – Departure from Siem Reap
Private transfer to the airport according to your flight schedule.
