No wonder, this is one of our favourites!
In this two-day tour, suitable to everybody, you will discover some of the most characteristic aspects of Thailand: salinas, a traditional Thai house processing sugar palm, an important ingredient for the preparation of spicy sauces such as kinds of curry as well as a variety of desserts. The railway market, a spice and fish market on the very railway tracks displaying the scene of sellers moving away their stalls on the coming of trains.
And then the famous Damnoen Saduak floating market, reachable via small canals by motorboat. Full of tourists, not touristy yet, it has kept its exotic flavour: thin boats piled up with fruit, meat, vegetables and seafood, slowly paddled about by ladies.
Later, a stop at the Bridge on the River Kway, made famous by David Lean's movie, where you can take stunning views, and have lunch in a restaurant on the river.
Then we proceed towards the floating resort, gliding for 40 minutes along the river, where multicoloured birds and water buffaloes are at sight, some floating houses every now and then, all accompanied by jungle sounds.
At the floating resort there is no electricity; the water is supplied from aseptic tanks. You’ll have a choice of Western or Thai cuisine.
Then at night, lying on a hammock in the veranda, in the silence and darkness of the jungle with just the yellow light of oil lamps, far from the madding crowd…well, just experience it!
