Suggested Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Luang Prabang
Arrival at Luang Prabang Airport and private transfer to your hotel. Rooms are available from 14:00.
If your flight arrives early, a short introductory visit can be arranged. Otherwise, the full sightseeing program begins the next day.
Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 2: Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Caves – City Tour
Early in the morning, you may observe the daily Tak Bat ceremony, where monks walk through the streets collecting alms from local residents. Afterwards, you can visit a local morning market before returning to the hotel for breakfast.
Later, visit the Royal Palace Museum (closed on Tuesdays), Vat Mai, and Vat Visoun — the oldest temple in Luang Prabang.
Continue with a boat trip along the Mekong River to visit the Pak Ou Caves, which house hundreds of Buddha images.
Return to the city by boat in the late afternoon.
If time allows, stop at the local night market.
Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 3: Luang Prabang – Kuang Si Waterfalls – Luang Prabang
In the morning, visit Vat Xieng Thong, a large complex of sacred buildings and one of the finest examples of Lao religious architecture. Continue to Vat Sène, the first temple in the city with a roof covered in yellow and red tiles.
Then drive to the Kuang Si Waterfalls, passing rice fields and villages along the way. Stop to visit a local village en route.
At the falls, you’ll have time to walk, relax, or swim in the natural pools.
Return to Luang Prabang in the afternoon.
Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 4: Departure from Luang Prabang
Free time until your transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (No guide service)
Hotel rooms are available until 12:00.
